Gin
This was one of the most fun projects during my time at Design Academy. Starting from my fascination at
that time with gin tonics I decided to try and make my own “perfect” gin and tonic. From scratch. What made
the project so fun for me was that I could combine all my skills and interests in this project. Using my
practical and technical skills to build my own “still”(Distillery kettle) from an old beer keg. Applying my
experience as a bartender and love for food and drinks to experiment with the flavors of the gin and the
tonic. And using what I learned as a designer so far to create a concept and design the bottles that I
engraved using a sandblaster.
... The final gin called “Eilander” and made with Oysters and samphire is inspired on the Island Vlieland where
I spend a lot of summers.
